When the Old Self Fades

There comes a moment when you notice that you no longer react the way you used to. The gestures, reflexes and thoughts that once defined the old self lose their obviousness. You observe them as if they belonged to someone else. It is not a brutal rupture, but a slow, progressive, almost gentle dissolution. The old self does not disappear all at once, it withdraws. It loses its consistency, its weight, its authority.

Psychologically, it is an identity deconstruction. The mechanisms that structured the personality begin to disintegrate. Old motivations no longer work. Fears lose their intensity. Beliefs unravel. You feel a kind of inner vacancy, a space opening, a silence settling in. This silence is not empty, it is preparatory. It announces that something else is trying to emerge.

Inside, a new presence begins to manifest. It is not yet clear, but it is there, stable, deep, quiet. A wider part of yourself, long suffocated, starts to take up space. It does not impose itself by force, but by evidence. You feel that this presence is more just, more aligned, more true. It does not resemble the old self. It does not have the same priorities, the same fears, or the same limits.

On a subtler level, the vibration changes frequency. It becomes finer, higher, denser. As if a higher version of yourself were drawing closer, superimposing, revealing itself. It is not an illumination, it is an emergence. A slow but irreversible ascent. You do not yet know what this part wants, but you know it is authentic. And that it will not leave.

When the old self fades, you cross a strange zone. You are no longer who you were before, but not yet who you will become. You float between two identities, two ways of being, two levels of consciousness. This in‑between can be destabilizing, but it is necessary. Because it is in this space that the new self finds room to be born.
